Thank you all for your continued support! Hands For life Western Addition has been in operation during the shelter-in-place ordinance with the COVID-19 outbreak. While many outreach programs at the women’s shelter and Project Homeless Connect have been suspended to minimize exposure, we are still providing chiropractic care with home visits. The money raised for these services goes toward the outreach that will pick up once the State mandates have ceased. We will get through this together, and any donation toward Hands For Life Western Addition will help maintain its momentum in the upcoming months. Chiropractic care is an essential avenue for many to seek relief and supportive care without the need to access emergency care and hospital visits. WHEW! Great event today!! Over 55 people were adjusted! Hands For Life Western Addition collaborated with Project Homeless Connect for its first event this year. It is a thrill to see the same faces returning for adjustments, excited to experience the relief they did last time. While these events are only once every 3 months, I am noticing repeat patients eager to use the outreach that is available to them, and gives this non profit its true purpose: to create an avenue of holistic healthcare to the underserved populations. And it is wonderful to see their progress because of it. OCTOBER OUTREACH AND PARTNERSHIP WITH PROJECT HOMELESS CONNECT! How does Hands For Life Western Addition contribute to the outreach of Project Homeless Connect? To understand this, we would love to give you a walk through description of how care is provided not just with PHC events, but also how it provides chiropractic care to shelters throughout the city. Hands For Life Western Addition provides a comprehensive initial evaluation to those who are experiencing a form of homelessness to see how chiropractic can help them. From there chiropractic analysis is done, to see where stress is building up in the spine. By using Activator adjusting techniques, Dr. McCarty is then able to realign areas of weakness in the spine that could be causing pain and other symptoms. She has seen incredible results with people that continue to utilize her services for pain relief and prevention, and happily has many repeat clients at the shelters she attends. With Project Homeless Connect, she will spend an entire day adjusting people between 10am-4:30pm. Last event, we saw over 45 people! It is with at this event, that people have access to basic needs from obtaining licenses, eye glasses, first aid, (to name a few) but also to holistic healthcare as well. If I haven’t said it already, welcome to the cause! Hands For Life Western Addition is an independent chapter of a larger, international organization. Its outreach begin here in San Francisco, and already Dr. McCarty and its supporters are creating a rippling impact. In March 2018 it partnered up with Project Homeless Connect, and Dr. McCarty adjusted 50 people at the day event, providing care for those who are experiencing a form of homelessness, as well as those who have little access to healthcare. Hands For Life Western Addition is excited to announce that it will be providing care at A Woman’s Place Shelter and Drop Inn clinic beginning this March, 2018! A Woman’s Place provides 24-hour services in San Francisco offering emergency shelter and long-term treatment programs to women and transgender women with special needs due to mental disabilities, sexual or domestic violence, drug and alcohol abuse, and HIV+/AIDS-related issues. Project Homeless Connect does community day events throughout the year, and come March 2018, Hands For Life Western Addition will be a servicing provider! This organization was founded in 2004, and its mission was (and still is) to bring necessary services to people experiencing homelessness in San Francisco. Services range from dental care, eyeglasses, HIV testing, housing information, food, hygiene products, medical care, mental health services, SSI benefits, legal advice, California identification cards, voice mail accounts, employment counseling/job placement, wheelchair repair, addiction services, and more. What does a healthy nervous system mean for you? Hands For Life has 3 main areas of focus, and one of them is to help the financial hard-shipped population achieve an efficient nervous system. The reason a healthy nervous system is so important is because it’s what runs everything in your body. No cell or tissue goes un-touched by your nervous system. Without your nervous system, your heart wouldn’t know when or how to beat, your lungs wouldn’t be able to expand to allow you to breathe, and your muscles wouldn’t be able contract to help you lift your arm. When your nervous system is functioning correctly, then your body is able to perform all the things it needs to do. It also should be able to fight off any virus, bacteria, or disease. However, when the nervous system is compromised, or not working efficiently, then our body begins to break down. Hands For Life Nonprofit is growing everyday. With Chapters starting all over the U.S., Hands For Life is looking to be the largest Chiropractic Nonprofit in the World. Over the last 18 months, we have been to India 4 times, serving over just under 10,000 people during each of our visits. We also serve in Mexico 2 times a month, seeing anywhere between 150 and 300 people the first and third Saturday of each month. Sharing the gift of chiropractic, health and healing is something we love to do. There are millions upon millions of people on our planet who have no access to health care, nor could they afford it if it were available. And Natural Healthcare is so hard for these people to find. When we were in India, we witnessed miracles right in front of our eyes!! Kids walking for the first time, eyesight changing, hearing restored, and the lifeless brought back to life. Being able to touch so many is truly a blessing, and even though one may not be able to attend these trips, their donations make it possible to “heal the world.” Keep checking back on our site to see the great things our donors are supporting, and to realize we all play a part in helping others.
